We crossed over the continental divide this morning. All last night as we entered the Rockies we had lightening all around us but other than a few drops of rain the weather was good. Just a bit cold at 48 degrees.
Rob rode great last night, there were 3 big climbs but his speed is up and he seems to have his legs back.
We stayed in Alamosa, CO today, there is a wicked sand storm outside, winds sustained at about 40 mph, ROb is riding through it right now and should be coming through here soon. He facing a hell of a cross/head wind and it's slowing him down a lot. He's leaning over and forward as he rides, I'm sure he'll be beat tonight.
So tonight we'll be heading down into Trinidad, CO which is the "Gateway to the Plains" so the riding should get much easier for a couple days. Looks like we'll be sleeping in Kansas tomorrow.
I was starting to get pretty exhausted but I got a great sleep today. Yesterday was hell cause we got relieved an hour late and then there was an hour time change so we had to relieve the day crew an hour early, plus it was a long drive to get to a hotel. Much better today though.
